ปัจจุบันได้มีการนำเทคนิค ablation มารักษาใน benign thyroid nodules เพิ่มมากขึ้น จากเดิมที่นำมารักษาใน thyroid cancer ทาง American Thyroid Association (ATA) จึงได้ตีพิมพ์บทความเรื่อง General Principles for the Safe Performance, Training, and Adoption of Ablation Techniques for Benign Thyroid Nodules: An American Thyroid Association Statement ลงในวารสาร Thyroid เดือนตุลาคม 2566
